A Living Legacy: The Bernie Marcus Torah

It was a day of joy, unity, and deep spiritual pride as the Chabad Intown community gathered to celebrate the completion and dedication of the Bernie Marcus Torah. A living tribute to Bernie’s vision, generosity, and lifelong love for the Jewish people.

Writing the Final Letters

The celebration began in the lobby as the community witnessed a sacred moment: the final letters of the Torah being lovingly inscribed by the sofer (scribe). Everyone had the honor of participating in this timeless mitzvah, each stroke of ink representing a link in our unbroken chain of tradition.

As the final words were written, emotion filled the room. The Torah was complete & ready to take its place as a source of light, learning, and inspiration for generations to come.

A Joyful Torah Parade

With song, music, and dance, the brand-new Torah was joyfully carried in a lively Torah parade. The streets came alive with celebration as children, families, and friends danced alongside the Torah, proudly escorting it to its new home. All the other Chabad Intown Torah’s were brought out to escort the new one to its new home. A beautiful tradition.

It was a moment filled with pure Simcha (JOY) that beautifully captured the heart of Jewish life. Joy rooted in purpose, movement grounded in meaning.

Dancing, Celebration, and Community

The festivities continued in the sanctuary, where the sounds of music filled the air. Guests joined together in spirited dancing, delicious food, and heartfelt connection.

This was more than a ceremony. It was a historic milestone for Chabad Intown, honoring a man whose generosity and vision continue to elevate and strengthen Jewish life in Atlanta and beyond.

A Torah That
Lives On

Together, we honored Bernie Marcus’s legacy the best way possible: with joy, unity, and Torah at the center. His light will continue to guide and uplift this community for generations to come.
